Passing of Mrs Jessie Murray

Yesterday, 29th August 2011, Mrs Jessie Murray, M.B.E., passed away at her home in Perth, WA. Mrs Murray was a legendary Cheltenham Girls' High School Music teacher who was responsible for introducing the whole school singing of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus in 1961 to annual Presentation Day celebrations. Mrs Murray is also remembered for founding the Linnet Choir of Sydney. She is sadly missed and fondly remembered. We understand a memorial service will be held in Epping in the near future.
